It manages production sites in 11 countries throughout Europe, Asia, Africa, Oceania and Latin America where it produces vehicles featuring the latest advanced technologies. 5,000 sales and service outlets in over 160 countries guarantee technical support wherever an Iveco vehicle is at work.

GSE

GSE plays a key role in promoting and supporting the deployment of renewables in Italy. It conducts technical inspections to qualify renewable power plants and high-efficiency combined heat & power (CHP) plants and grants incentives for electricity generated and fed into the grid by the same plants, as well as for large-scale energy efficiency projects.

GSE is the second national operator in terms of intermediated electricity: it buys electricity from the supported plants and resells it in the electricity market. It also certifies the renewable origin of electricity injected into the grid.

GSE fosters competitiveness in the natural-gas market, by providing virtual gas storage services and holding auctions with a view to awarding storage services. GSE is also in charge of selling Italian emission allowances in the European CO2 market under the EU emission trading scheme.

GSE is also responsible for assessing, managing and certifying the savings achieved through energy efficiency projects under the white certificate schemes; these activities were previously carried out by the Italian electricity & gas regulator (AEEG). Moreover, GSE grants implements and manages the heating & cooling support scheme (conto termico), awarding the related incentives.

In 2013, the Ministry of Economic Development vested GSE with the task of managing the national system of certificates of placement of biofuels in the market; the system was established in accordance with European directives in order to develop the sustainable biofuel sector and curb CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. Jointly with institutional partners, GSE carries out a constant activity of awareness and training on renewable-energy support schemes that Italian authorities have shaped to help sustain the national economy. It also provides specialist energy support services to public administrations.

Central government bodies have recognised the pivotal role of GSE in implementing national energy policy, given its relentless commitment to encouraging the deployment of renewables.

Thanks to its responsibilities at national level, GSE is accredited with and participates in the technical fora of leading international organisations and associations engaged in promoting the use of renewables, including intergovernmental agencies, such as the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), but also of the Observatoire Méditerranéen de l’Energie (OME) and Res4Med, i.e. non-profit associations aimed at furthering renewable energy and electricity infrastructure in the Mediterranean area.

On behalf or in support of the relevant ministries, GSE also takes part in various international initiatives aimed at gaining insight into, investigating and sharing experiences in renewables, energy efficiency and the carbon market, including the Concerted Action on the Renewable Energy Sources Directive (CA-RES) and the International Partnership for Energy Efficiency Cooperation (IPEEC). With the support of the Ministry of Economic Development, GSE designed and implemented Corrente, a project that gathers operators in the renewable-energy and energy-efficiency sectors and provides services and initiatives enhancing their value.

GSE is the parent company of Acquirente Unico (AU), Gestore dei Mercati Energetici (GME) and Ricerca del Sistema Energetico (RSE), which carry out public-interest activities in the energy sector.

UNESCO

UNESCO works to create the conditions for dialogue among civilizations, cultures and peoples, based upon respect for commonly shared values. It is through this dialogue that the world can achieve global visions of sustainable development encompassing observance of human rights, mutual respect and the alleviation of poverty, all of which are at the heart of UNESCO’S mission and activities.

The broad goals and concrete objectives of the international community – as set out in the internationally agreed development goals, including the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) – underpin all UNESCO’s strategies and activities. Thus UNESCO’s unique competencies in education, the sciences, culture and communication and information contribute towards the realization of those goals.

UNESCO’s mission is to contribute to the building of peace, the eradication of poverty, sustainable development and intercultural dialogue through education, the sciences, culture, communication and information.

Warsaw University of Technology

The Warsaw University of Technology, so named in 1915, continues the tradition of the Preparatory School for the Institute of Technology set up in Warsaw in 1826 thanks to the efforts of Stanis³aw Staszic. The University's roots also reach down to the Hipolit Wawelberg and Stanis³aw Rotwand School of Machine Construction and Electrical Engineering, created in 1895. The many generations of engineers it turned out and its significant contributions to the development of technical sciences earned the Warsaw University of Technology an acclaimed position in the country as well as international renown.

The Warsaw University of Technology (Politechnika Warszawska) is one of the leading institutes of technology in Poland, and one of the largest in Central Europe. It employs 2,453 teaching faculty, with 357 professors (including 145 titular professors). The student body numbers 36,156 (as of 2011), mostly full-time. There are 19 faculties (divisions) covering almost all fields of science and technology.

The Warsaw University of Technology is an academic institution of higher learning, shaping the future social elites ? educated people with a broad outlook on the world, conscious of their own views but also understanding and respecting the views of others. The mission of the Warsaw University of Technology always remains the same: The knowledge and skills imparted to its students and the scientific studies it conducts must always serve Man and Mankind.

Faculty of Mathematics and Information Science

Due to its strategic position in Europe, Poland has always been regarded as the gateway to the East. Warsaw is host to thousands of foreign companies doing business in Poland and many international institutions coordinating economic and scientific cooperation between, on the one hand, the European Union and USA and on the other, Central and Eastern European countries. This unique situation has created a high demand for well-qualified engineers fluent in English.

The Warsaw University of Technology is the highest-ranked institution for advanced engineering education and research in Poland and one of the most prestigious academic institutions in Europe. The curricula and academic standards closely resemble those of many highly regarded U.S. universities. The low ratio of students to professors at Warsaw University of Technology's Faculty of Mathematics and Information Science and the warm working relationship between students and instructors helps those studying to develop confidence in their ability to make significant contributions to engineering and research work.
